|Fred Bloebaum (a woman with a man's nickname) is a highly regarded instructor/designer/author from the San Francisco area. She specializes in fashion-conscious sewing classes focusing on designer techniques, tailoring, figure flattery, and sewing with a wide variety of unique fabrics. Fred has been an instructor at local sewing schools and fabric stores. She has served on the faculties of several colleges, teaching fashion design and sewing-related courses.|
In addition, Fred leads sewing retreats in beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. These retreats feature personalized instruction in which students receive Fred's guidance with projects of their own choice. Fred also teaches small group workshops and individual consultations in her Oakland, California studio.
Fred designs the La Fred pattern collection, "Clothing Designs by La Fred." This line currently contains 17 patterns. These patterns feature elegant, classic clothing that have contemporary lines, flatter a wide range of ages and figures, and are simple to construct.
